When Mara James experienced extreme challenges with her mental health, she sought out ways to heal that complemented her psychiatric and psychological treatments. She struggled to find experienced healers and eventually found a team of healers through word of mouth. With such a positive outcome and transformation, Mara embarked on a journey to bring approved healers to others suffering with mental health challenges.
To support people on their healing journeys, Mara founded a subsidiary of ELF called the HUGS For Life™ Healing Center where healers apply to become approved HUGS For Life healers. HUGS For Life provides a safe place for clients to find alternative healing modalities and for clinicians to refer their patients to.
